Education and Training

NCAS education and training aims to provide informative, cutting edge and timely courses, information and advice. Courses include the Atmospheric Measurement Summer School, the Climate Modelling Summer School and the WRF users tutorial.

Air Quality and Health Studentships

The deadline has now passed for proposals for 12 NCAS coordinated studentships, distributed across the major UK universities in air quality and atmospheric chemistry and physics.

The studentships are expected to span fundamentals of atmospheric pollution, megacity air quality, boundary-layer atmospheric physics, technology and informatics. NCAS will manage and deliver a complementary programme of formal training for this cohort of students, including new short course provision and use of existing NCAS summer schools and training courses.

Doctoral Training Partnerships

Training the next generation of atmospheric scientists is priority for NCAS, and we are partners in 9 of the NERC Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) providing world leading training and expertise in the field of atmospheric science. Each year these DTP's offer ~100 studentships in atmospheric science.

Knowledge Exchange

Find out about Knowledge Exchange projects that NCAS science and scientists are involved in. Get more information about KE and what being involved with a KE project involves.

Visiting Scientist Programme

The visiting scientist programme is designed to facilitate collaborations that will share knowledge, advance existing research, stimulate new research areas, allow collective response to scientific initiatives, raise the international profile of NCAS and enable new relationships to be built in the key atmospheric research fields of air quality, climate, technology and weather.

Resources for Schools
