Join a highly-regarded team of computational scientists to help deliver world-leading climate and Earth-System science. Work with state-of-the-art data analysis codes and on the infrastructure that supports the global climate change research effort.

NCAS-CMS (http://cms.ncas.ac.uk) provides computational modelling services to the UK Climate and Weather research communities, spanning all areas of the modelling workflow from computational resource allocation and management, to running complex climate simulations, to handling data storage and analysis. We develop software in-house and are responsible for installing and maintaining world-leading climate modelling systems on the UK’s most powerful high-performance computers.

The post holder will join NCAS-CMS to work developing and optimising software libraries used for data analysis and metadata archiving, and developing community standards in support of international climate modelling efforts for which NCAS-CMS is a major contributor.

The post is full time for a fixed term up to 36 months.
