The National Centre for Atmospheric Science is funded by the Natural Environment Research Council.

Each year, we receive £18 million directly from the Natural Environment Research council to deliver national capability in atmospheric science. These funds support fundamental research into atmospheric science, provision of large-scale research services, and advice to the government. Put simply, this funding helps to keep the UK at the forefront of atmospheric science.

We receive an additional £15 million from other partners, including government, research councils, and commercial organisations. These funds allow us to provide research and consultancy in atmospheric science.
