Today's flight, originally intended to explore the frontal structure off the south coast of the UK, was cancelled this morning after the latest forecasts revealed that the system had drifted too far south into French airspace. Here's hoping for better luck tomorrow...

Monday's plan is to explore any polar lows developing in the region to the north west of Scotland in the north westerly air-stream. The latest forecasts are encouraging, with troughs evident in the region of interest suggesting conditions are favourable for the development of vortices. The situation will continue to be closely monitored during the course of the day in the available satellite images. We are aiming for a double science flight, with a 9am take off from Exeter and a refuel in either Prestwick or Newcastle, returning to Exeter around 18:15z.
